We know alot of newbies have a hard time getting going on Neopets. We decided to make this page to help members get a jump start on making Neopets fun. Hope this helps someone.
Getting Started
- After you sign up and Create your pet. You will receive a newbie pack from neopets.
*Go open a bank account.
- Go and familiarize yourself with the site and explore.
- Use the soup kitchen to feed your pet until you get on your feet.
- Check the news it helps keep you updated.
**Look at the other links on the website for alot of tips, especially the Do Daily**
Now You Need Neopoints
- Play Games - this is the best way to get on your feet.
- Use the shop wizard (the little blue hat in the menu bar on top) to buy cheaper priced items and mark them up 5 or 10 np and put them in your shop.(see below)
Opening a Shop for Neopoints
Open your own shop. Create your own shop by going to Your Shop and following the instructions. It will cost you 150NP and give you room for 5 items. To upgrade your shop click on the 'Create/Edit a Shop' link and click the button at the bottom. Every upgrade costs more money than the last time and always gives you room for 5 more items.
Got your shop open: So how do I sell items? Go back to your 'Inventory' and then click on the 'Quick Stock' link. Click on the "check all" button for the 'Stock' column and then click the 'Submit' button. All your items will now be in your 'Shop Stock' list. Click on the 'Shop Stock' link as it is now time to put a price on each item.
How do I price them?. You use the Shop Wizard (the blue hat with stars). Use the lowest price after 3 refreshes. Never price more then 5 Neopoints higher or lower then the lowest price. Type the price in the box "Your Price" then click on the "update" button. You will find your money in "Shop Till".
Items you win or find as a random event that you don't want, sell them.
Remember Items priced at or higher then 100,000np are unbuyable.
To get your money from sales go to your "Shop Till".
Put half your profits in your bank account.
**((Remember every 3rd day of the month is half price day, take advantage of this))**
Ways to Heal Your Pets
Always go to the Healing Springs, this is located in faerieland. The water faerie will eventually heal your pet, it may take 3 or 4 visits.
Also every once in awhile Coltzan's Shrine in the Lost Desert may heal your pet.
There is also a random event 'The Ghost Lion' he may also restore your pet.
Raise Your Pets Stats
To raise defense, strength, level, agility, endurance(HP) you can do the following:
The Mystery Island Training School - You need codestones for this school.
The Swashbuckling Academy (Krawk Island) - You will need Dubloons.
Coltzan's Shrine -Coltzan will occassionally appear and give your pet more strength or will raise one pet a level.
Muntando Fruit raises your pet's hit points by one.
Doing a faerie quest may also raise a stat, depending on which faerie it is.
The Kitchen quest may also raise your stats.
Eating certain Neggs.
To raise IQ : Reading books, Poogle Solitaire and Cliffhanger.
There is also a random event that may raise your pet by one level.
Faeries
Faeries grant your pet special abilities if they are experienced enough.
Faerie Abilities - There is six faeries (Air Faerie,Fire Faerie,Earth Faerie, Water Faerie,Dark Faerie and Light *Faerie). Each one has a different set of abilities.
Faeries can be found as random events, won playing Tombola, purchased through the shop wizard, auction or doing a trade.
Faeries are a one time use item. To bless your pet with a faerie,go to your inventory and click on your *Faerie. Then pick bless your pet. Your faerie will then give you an ability, if your pet has a high enough level.
To use the ability, you have to activate it. Go to your pet, click on abilities under your pet, then click on your ablity.
Trades and Auctions
Use the Trading Post for every trade you do.
Watch out for scams in both Trades and Auctions! (look at the scam link for more info).
Always use the shop wizard to price the item or trade,that way you won't get ripped off.
For Auctions, you have to have the Neopoints when the Auction closes.
If you win the bid, you will receive an email saying so.
The NeoLodge
If you are going to be away for a long time check your pet into Coachroach Towers with no extras, it will cost 5 np a day. Your pet will be fed and looked after. This another way to feed your pet too, it gets them bloated and you only have to feed maybe every 2 days.
